Photo Gallery: Renderings of the Phase I Facility...
When facilities are as cutting-edge in their concept, design and construction, and as well-maintained as Penn's are, it supports the shared goal of our coaches: to prepare their student-athletes will. Collectively, our community desires improved and enhanced athletic and recreation facilities that will permit us to extend Penn's comprehensive living and learning environment. The "Penn Connect" initiative of the Campaign for Penn Athletics will not only help to transform the eastern edge of campus and add vital green space for campus recreation, but it will also allow various intercollegiate programs to pursue a continued position of athletic excellence commensurate with the University's strong academic reputation.
GEORGE A. WEISS PAVILION AT FRANKLIN FIELD
An athletic performance center, the Weiss Pavilion will feature new spaces including a state-of-the-art intercollegiate strength and conditioning facility for the University's 33 intercollegiate athletic teams, the Donald Frey Athletic Training Room, and the Robert A. Fox C'52 Fitness Center to complement the David S. Pottruck Health and Fitness Center on the west side of campus. Opening day will be in 2010.
