PHILADELPHIA - The Ivy League has announced its weekly award winners in field hockey, and Penn gained a pair of honors as senior Sarah Hasson was named co-Ivy League Player of the Week (along with Dartmouth's Maggie Scanlon) and freshman Elizabeth Hitti earned her second Ivy League Rookie of the Week recognition.
The duo were a major reason Penn won its first Ivy League game of the season on Saturday, a 4-3 decision over Harvard. Hasson finished the game with two goals and an assist, her first multi-goal game since her freshman year. Hitti, meanwhile, had a goal and an assist in the victory. Earlier in the week, Hitti scored twice in Penn's 4-3, non-conference win over La Salle.
Penn is on the road this weekend, facing Dartmouth in another Ivy League battle. The Quakers and Big Green will face off at noon in Hanover, N.H.
