PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team has qualified two players for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Women's All-America Championships in Los Angeles, Calif. This marks the first time the Quakers have been represented at this elite event since Connie Hsu advanced through pre-qualifying to gain a spot in the draw as a freshman in 2010.

Sophomore Sol Eskenazi was selected for the qualifying draw which begins Tuesday, Oct. 2 at UCLA. In doubles, Eskenazi and partner Jules Rodin were one of only 24 teams in the country selected to compete in the main draw. They start their matches on Thursday, Oct. 4 at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

"We are honored that our players were selected to compete in both the singles and doubles events," said Penn's Head Coach, Sanela Kunovac. "We are poised to compete hard and represent Penn at this extraordinary tournament."

The Championships will begin with pre-qualifying singles and doubles matches and will run through Sunday, Oct. 7 when both finals will be played. Fans will be able to follow the event through the ITA's Twitter account, @ITAtennis. The singles semifinalists, doubles finalists, and consolation champions will receive automatic entry into the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships Nov. 8-11 in Flushing, N.Y.
