PHILADELPHIA – The Penn softball team (6-10) will welcome Lehigh (7-7-1) to Penn Park on Wednesday afternoon beginning at 3 p.m. for its second straight home doubleheader. The Quakers head into the two matchups with the Mountain Hawks after putting on a clinic against Lafayette last Friday. The Red and Blue totaled 19 runs, 16 hits, two home runs and a no-hitter in just 10 combined innings of play against the Leopards.

Lehigh presents a stiffer challenge for Penn, as the Patriot League powerhouse enters Wednesday with a 1.88 combined team ERA. The first of the two games will feature two young pitchers that have been dominating for their respective teams this season.

Alexis Borden is surging up the record books for the Quakers and currently leads the team in every major statistical pitching category, including strikeouts (57), ERA (1.91) and innings pitched (55). The sophomore also threw her second career no-hitter against Lafayette – the second in program history – in the first game, which ended after five innings in favor of Penn, 8-0. Emily Bausher will be in the circle for the Mountain Hawks, and the sophomore leads her team in all of the same categories as Borden.

The Penn bats have awoken of late as well, led by senior Brooke Coloma and freshman Korinne Raby. Coloma leads the Quakers in batting, hitting .324 with 12 hits. Raby is commanding respect at the plate in her first collegiate season as the rookie backstop is slugging .629 with four home runs and 12 RBI, leading Penn in all three categories.

The action is scheduled to get underway at 3 p.m. for Game 1 of the doubleheader against the Mountain Hawks, followed by a quick break and then Game 2. Live stats and live radio will be available for both contests and make sure to follow @UPennSoftball for live in-game updates and conversation.
