PHILADELPHIA - In the final tune-up before the NCAA Championships begin, the University of Pennsylvania women's track and field team will head to the ECAC Championships this weekend at Princeton's Weaver Stadium.

The meet begins on Friday night with several distance events and then kicks into full gear on Saturday beginning with the 4x100-meter relay at 2:45 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m. with the 4x400-meter relay. The final day of competition will start with the finals of the 4x100 at noon and conclude with the 4x400-meter relay finals at 3 p.m.

Last week, also at Princeton, the Quakers earned four All-Ivy honors between sophomore Heather Bong, freshman Kelsey Hay and junior Gabrielle Piper. Bong, who owns the school record in the 100 meters, finished as the runner-up in the event with a time of 11.98. She also earned another eight points for the Quakers in the 200 meters for a pair of second-team All-Ivy accolades. Piper was the runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles and Hay was second in the javelin.

Last year at this meet, Jillian Hart, Victoria Strickland, Laura Steel and Kristen Judge all scored for the Quakers. Hart had the highest finish of the meet for the Quakers. She tied for third with a mark of 3.78 meters (12 feet, 4 3/4 inches) in the pole vault. Strickland earned a point in the 800 meters, Steel garnered another point for the Red and Blue in the 3,000 meters and Judge finished seventh in the high jump.

A full recap of the 2013 Outdoor ECAC Championships will be available at PennAthletics.com shortly after the completion of the meet.
