PHILADELPHIA -- In the last dual meet of the season in Sheerr Pool, the University of Pennsylvania men's swimming and diving team broke three pool records in Saturday morning's loss to Harvard, 182.5-115.5. The Quakers won five events, including wins in the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay.

Penn got off to a slow start, only winning two events in the first half of the meet, but picked up the pace in the second half.

The Red and Blue put up its first points of the day as the 200 medley relay “A team” – freshman Phillip Hu, sophomore Kyle Yu, senior Rhoads Worster, sophomore Eric Schultz – finished at 1:29.10, breaking the previous pool record they set against Brown (1:29.94).

In the 100 back, Worster put up the second first place finish with his time of 49.65, beating the Crimson’s Jack Pretto by 24 hundreths of a second.

After the wins in the 200 medley relay and in the 100 back, Penn wouldn’t win another event until Worster took a second individual first place finish. This time, Worster broke the pool record (48.94) in the 100 fly with his time of 48.65.

In the following event, sophomore Brendan Crystal took the fourth first place finish for Penn in the 400 IM with his time of 4:00.94. He defeated Harvard’s Christian Carbone by five hundredths of a second.

The 400 free relay “A team” – junior Alex Porter, Schultz, junior Dillon McHugh, Worster – completed the Ivy season with a perfect record and capped it off with a pool record time of 3:00.08. The “A team” had set the previous pool record, 3:01.13, when the Quakers hosted Brown.

The Red and Blue will be back in action next weekend for the Cavalier Invite in Charlottesville, Va.
