Women's Tennis Falls to No. 66 Princeton, 5-2.

PRINCETON, N.J. – In its first Ivy League matchup of the season, the University of Pennsylvania women’s tennis team fell to No. 66 Princeton, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon inside Jadwin Gym at Princeton.

Penn (7-5, 0-1 Ivy) took two of three doubles matches to start off the day with an early 1-0 lead, but only managed one more victory after that in singles play.

Sol Eskenazi and Kana Daniel won their doubles match, 8-2, along with the duo of Stephanie Do and Alexandra Ion winning, 8-4. Penn trailed 5-4 in the final doubles match before play was halted.

Sonya Latycheva was the only Quaker to win a singles match, winning 7-6(4), 6-2, in the third position. Playing in the top position, Eskenazi forced a third set before falling to the Tigers’ (12-5, 1-0 Ivy) Lindsay Graff.

Up next for the women’s tennis team will be an Ivy League matchup at Brown. The Quakers will take on the Bears at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 4, in Providence, R.I.
