PHILADELPHIA The University of Pennsylvania men’s golf team is ready to go at the Ivy League Championships. The 54-hole tournament will take place Friday through Sunday on the upper course at Baltusrol, which measures 6,278 yards and will play at par-72 for the Championships.

Penn is coming off a second-place finish out of five teams at Columbia’s Roar-EE Invitational last Friday in Tenafly, N.J.; prior to that, the Quakers were sixth out of 17 teams at Seton Hall’s Pirate Invitational which was played at Trump National in Bedminster, N.J.

The Schedule
Teams will begin teeing off from No. 1 at 8 a.m. on Friday; at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday; and again at 8 a.m. on Sunday.

Penn at the Championships
Penn finished fifth at last year’s event, carding 954 (+90) over the 54 holes. The Quakers won this event in 2010 -- on the very course that they will play this weekend -- and finished second in 2012.

The Penn Lineup
Statistics are from the spring…
*Junior Amanda Chin (75.3 stroke average, 6 rounds) – third Ivy Championships appearance
*Freshman Marissa Kay (77.3 average, 6 rounds) – first Ivy Championships appearance
*Freshman Sophia Chen (76.5 average, 4 rounds) – first Ivy Championships appearance
*Freshman Erin Lo (80.0 average, 6 rounds) – first Ivy Championships appearance
*Freshman Isabella Rahm (80.0 average, 2 rounds) – first Ivy Championships appearance

Past Honors

Chin has been a second-team All-Ivy pick each of the last two years; she finished sixth as a freshman in 2012, and tied for seventh last year as a sophomore.

This Year

Chen was the individual medalist at the Delaware Fall Invitational, while Chin opened the spring by winning medalist honors at Georgetown’s Hoya Invitational. Penn won the team title in a 16-team field at the Hoya, took second out of 10 at Delaware, and third out of 17 at Yale.

Low Rounds
Chin has the team’s lowest score this season, a 69 that she shot at the Yale Fall Intercollegiate; Kay carded a 71 at that same event; Chen had a 71 at the Delaware Fall Invitational; Lo scored a 75 at this spring’s opening event, the Hoya Invitational; and Rahm carded a 71 at the Harvard Invitational this fall.

Quoting Head Coach Mark Anderson
“We are excited to head back to Baltusrol this week for the Ivy League Championships. Baltusrol will always hold a special place in Penn Women's Golf history, as it is where we won our first Ivy title. We head into the Championships on a high note, having some very good team and individual performances over the past few weeks. We will definitely have the youngest team at the tournament -- 4 freshmen and 1 junior -- but I think they are going to surprise a lot of teams this weekend. We have struggled a little bit with injuries over the past couple of weeks, but the team that won at Georgetown is back together, healthy and ready to contend for another Ivy League trophy.”
