PHILADELPHIA - As has been the case all spring, No. 13 Penn lined up with Top-10 opponents for a Cup race, and the Quakers were unable to knock off No. 3 Harvard or No. 9 Navy in the Adams Cup on the Schuylkill River.
On a sunny Saturday featuring 8-12 mph winds over the 2000m course, Harvard pulled away for a 1.6-second win over Navy in the Varsity Eight. Penn struggled the entire way, finishing third.
Penn's best finish in the day's races was in the Second Frosh Eight as Penn was second by 2.9 seconds to Navy. The Midshipmen were first in 6:03.0 to Penn's 6:05.9. Harvard was well behind in third in 6:13.7.
Penn is off until May 18 when the Quakers head to Worcester, Mass. for the Eastern Sprints.
