Men's Squash Opens with Win Over Williams

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men’s squash team avenged its 2012 defeat, upending No. 11 Williams College 8-1, to open its season Saturday afternoon at Ringe Courts.

The No. 14 Quakers (1-0) won the first five matches on their way to taking eight total matches from the Ephs. Senior captain John Dudzik won the fifth and deciding match 3-1 over Williams’ Kai Graham. Playing in the No. 1 position on the ladder for the first time, sophomore Tyler Odell outlasted former Episcopal Academy teammate Robert Ruggiero, 3-1.

Penn improves its overall record against Williams to 30-10.

The Red and Blue will continue their season-opening weekend on Sunday, taking on No. 19 George Washington at 3 p.m. Penn will then take off for Thanksgiving, before returning to play at Navy on Dec. 5.
