Women's Squash Wins Finale, 9-0, Over Columbia

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women’s squash team wrapped up its regular season in winning fashion Sunday afternoon, dropping visiting Columbia, 9-0.

Third-ranked Penn (10-2, 6-1 Ivy) had little trouble with the ninth-ranked Lions (6-6, 1-6 Ivy), sweeping all nine matches by a 3-0 score.

The Quakers were led by Anaka Alankamony in the No. 1 position, with the freshman winning her fifth match in the top slot.

Penn senior co-captains Courtney Jones and Chloe Blacker went out on a winning-note in their final home regular season matches. With the win, Blacker finishes the regular season undefeated, with a 9-0 individual record.

Up next for the women’s team will be two weeks of preparation for the CSA Team Championships. The Quakers will compete for the Howe Cup, Feb. 21-23, in Princeton, N.J.
