The Series with Radford: The Quakers and the Highlanders are meeting for the first time in field hockey.
About Radford: The Highlanders (1-8) are in Philadelphia for a pair of games, playing Temple on Saturday before coming to Penn Sunday. Last weekend, Radford got its first win of 2012 with a 3-2, double-overtime win at Appalachian State. Radford has played three overtime games already this season. Stacey Mackintosh had two goals in the win over App State, including the OT winner, and leads the team with four goals and nine points.
*With five wins already this season, Penn has its best win total since 2009. A win Sunday would give the program its best win total since 2008.
*Penn has also reached its best goal total since 2009; the 2008 team had 28.
*In its most recent action, the Quakers gave 13th-ranked Lafayette a battle through one half on Wednesday night, but three quck goals in the second allowed the Leopards to win, 5-1, in Easton.
*Senior Sarah Hasson had both of Penn's goals in the loss, her second two-goal game in the Quakers' last three contests. Helene Caniglia assisted Hasson's first-half goal, while Emily Corcoran had the assist on her second-half tally.
*Hasson -- who was co-Ivy League Player of the Week on Sept. 24 -- leads the team in goals (6) and points (16) and is tied with freshman Elizabeth Hitti for the team lead in assists (4).
*Penn has six different goalscorers among its 26 goals this season.
*Caniglia, a sophomore, now has three assists this season, while classmates Corcoran and MaryRose Croddick have two apiece.
*Yet another sophomore, Carly Sokach, has played every minute in goal so far for Penn; she has a 3.17 goals-against average and a .701 save percentage. Sokach had eight saves in last Saturday's 2-0 loss at Dartmouth, earning a spot on the Ivy League's Weekly Honor Roll for putting up save-percentage and GAA numbers that surpassed her season totals.
*Senior Mandy Epstein and Tahan are this year's captains.
Penn is back at home on Friday, hosting Columbia in an Ivy League battle at 6:15 p.m.
