WASHINGTON, D.C. – The No. 5 Penn women’s squash team returned to Philadelphia with two wins on the young season. The Quakers continued a hot streak that began last weekend at the Ivy League Scrimmages, and rolled over the competition in Washington on Saturday. The Red and Blue defeated No. 12 Bates and No. 16 George Washington handily, each 9-0.

"The women are off to a great start," said head coach Jack Wyant.

Penn (2-0) began its doubleheader day against Bates (0-2) at 2 p.m. The Quakers made quick work of the Bobcats, winning all nine matches in straight set for their first victory of the season. Penn is now 4-1 all-time against Bates, winning the last two 9-0.

The Quakers then went head-to-head with George Washington (2-1) at 6 p.m. to finish up the day. Once again, the Red and Blue triumphed, winning every single match in straight sets and sweeping the Colonials this time, 9-0.

Next for Penn will be a short trip down 33rd street for a matchup with Drexel at the Kline and Specter Squash Courts on Nov. 28 at 7 p.m.
