Men and Women's Combined Results (Days 1&2)

Charlottesville, Va. -
A surging James Madison team knocked off the Penn women's swimming team on Saturday at the Cavalier Invitational. The Quakers had taken a 15-point lead into Saturday night's finals, but the Dukes walked away from the meet with a 33-point victory in the five-team event.

Meaghan Kwarcinski got the night started nicely for the Red and Blue, finishing second in the 400 IM (4:34.07), before immediately coming back in the next event to end the 200 Freestyle in third position (1:53.52).

Later on, Penn came in fourth in back-to-back events. Theresa Dula touched the wall in 2:21.43 in the 200 Breaststroke, while Katie Orem broke the one-minute barrier in the 100 Backstroke (59.34).

The final individual swim of the invitational was the 1650 Freestyle. Julia Anderson and Tatiana McLaughlan finished within a half-second of each other over the distance event, finishing second and third with times of 17:44.27 and 17:44.73, respectively.

As this group is Penn's non-Ivy League Championships squad, they wrap up their season with the second place showing. The members of the Red and Blue taking part in this season's Championships will be at Princeton from February 28-March 2 at DeNunzio Pool to compete against the rest of the Ancient Eight.

Final Women's Standings
1. James Madison 409
2. Penn 376
