CLEMSON, S.C. - The University of Pennsylvania women's rowing team concluded it racing action at the Clemson Invitational on Sunday morning.
The varsity 8 was fourth in its heat, completing the 2,000-meter course in exactly seven minutes. Virginia easily won the heat in 6:38.2, followed by Miami (6:56.1) and Tennessee (6:57.7). Indiana and Rhode Island finished behind the Quakers.
The second varsity 8 was third in its Sunday morning heat in 7:10.4, finishing behind Virginia (6:57.6) and Tennessee (7:08.8) but ahead of Indiana, Miami, and Rhode Island.
The varsity 4 was second in its heat in 8:04.4, behind only Virginia (8:00.8). Indiana was a distant third, in 8:21.4, followed by URI, Tennessee and Miami.
The women return to Cup-race action next weekend, competing against Princeton and Dartmouth for the Class of 1984 Award Plaque. Those races will take place in Princeton this year.
