The two are a combined 71-40 in four seasons competing for the Red and Blue on the mat. Last year, Cobb (141 pounds) and Lenzi (149 pounds) each started for Penn in every dual match, accumulating a 20-6 record in duals as the Quakers went 10-3 as a team.
Lenzi, a senior from Buchanan, N.Y., has a 40-29 career record for the Quakers. A second-team All-Ivy selection in 2011 at 149 pounds, he has finished seventh (2011) and eighth (2013) in his two starst at the EIWA Championships. He was fourth on the team in 2012-13 with 23 wins, including a crucial 3-2 win over No. 19 Shane Welch of Lehigh in the Red and Blue's win in Bethlehem.
In his first full season for the Quakers, Cobb posted a 25-9 record. 11-2 in dual meets, Cobb led the Quakers in wins against Top-20 opponents with seven. He was runner-up at the EIWA Championships at 141 pounds, qualifying for his first NCAA Championships. Cobb went 2-2 at his first NCAAs, defeated Nebraska's Ridge Kiley in the first round before a 3-2 loss to No. 7 Mark Ballweg (Iowa) in the second round. A second-team All-Ivy selection, Cobb was Keystone Classic champion and earned both Academic All-Ivy and Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area honors for his efforts in the classroom.
Penn opens its 2013-14 season with a dual meet at Maryland (7 p.m.) on Nov. 22.
