HANOVER, N.H. – Freshman George Lemmon won his individual match 3-0 to give the 13th ranked University of Pennsylvania men’s squash team a 5-4 victory over No. 10 Dartmouth, in the Quakers Ivy League opener, on Saturday afternoon.

Penn (4-0, 1-0 Ivy) saw co-captains John Dudzik and Jack Maine, along with Michael Mutscheller, Rahil Fazelbhoy and Lemmon all win their individual matches.

Penn defeated Dartmouth (1-3, 0-2 Ivy) for the first time since February of 2009 and the first time in Hanover since February of 2008.

“As always, Dartmouth is well prepared, fit and ready for a struggle,” said Head Coach Jack Wyant. “Fortunately today our men were up for the challenge. They stuck to the game plan, ran everything down and earned a 5-4 victory.”

The Red and Blue are off to their best start since 2006-07 when they started the season 7-0.

Penn continues Ivy play at 12 p.m.. on Sunday where it will take on  No. 2 Harvard (6-0, 2-0 Ivy) in Cambridge, Mass.
