PHILADELPHIA - It won't be a long trip on Saturday for the University of Pennsylvania men's and women's track and field teams as they stay in the Philadelphia area for their final meet of January. The Haverford Invitational gets underway at 11 a.m.

Last week, the Quakers opened the 2014 calendar with the Angry Birds Invitational at Lehigh's Rauch Fieldhouse. The Red and Blue swept the high jump between Maalik Reynolds and Noel Jancewicz. Lydia Ali won the women's 200 meters and the men's 4x400-meter relay also posted a victory. The women finished fourth as a team with 77 points, while the men were third with 113 points.

Saturday's meet is scheduled to conclude with the men's 4x400-meter relay at 3:15 p.m. The Quakers sent a portion of each squad to the season opener last week so this will mark the opening meet for many of those traveling to Haverford. That includes the distance runners, who will make their debut in either the 3,000 meters or the mile.

A full recap will be available at PennAthletics.com shortly after the conclusion of the day's events.
