PHILADELPHIA – The No. 8 University of Pennsylvania men’s and women’s fencing teams are preparing to head west to compete in the Northwestern University Duals this weekend, where the Quakers will be tested against top ranked schools like Notre Dame and Ohio State. The meet will be held at the Henry Crown Sports Pavilion on Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 8 a.m. CT both days.
For a second weekend in a row the women will fence No. 7 Northwestern. The Quakers will once against take on No. 5 Ohio State, after falling to them (11-16) earlier in the season, and will face a new challenge from No. 3 Notre Dame. The Red and Blue will also fence, Wayne State, UC San Diego, Stanford, and Detroit-Mercy.
As for the men, they are set to start their Saturday morning by fencing No. 4 Notre Dame, which will be followed by a rematch between the Quakers and No. 6 Ohio State. Earlier this season the Red and Blue defeated the Buckeyes, 15-12. Throughout the two-day event, Penn will also fence No. 10 Stanford, UNC, Wayne State, Detroit-Mercy, and UC San Diego.
