PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men’s squash team was up 2-0 in three matches before falling in five games, succumbing 9-0 to third-ranked Yale Saturday afternoon in Ringe Courts.

Co-captains Jack Maine and John Dudzik, and freshman George Lemmon have all been key contributors to the Quakers (6-3, 2-2 Ivy) success this season, and all three started their individual matches ahead 2-0, before falling 3-2.

Besides the sixth, seventh, and eight positions that Lemmon, Dudzik and Maine occupy, Penn did not have much of an answer for the Bulldogs.

Yale (11-1, 3-0 Ivy) won six of the nine matches by the score 3-0.

Penn did play competitive games with sophomore Liam Quinn losing two games by the score 11-9. Fellow sophomore Augie Frank pushed one of his games to 11-9, and junior Michael Mutscheller battled in his third game loss, 12-10.

Despite the loss, the Quakers had the opportunity to play in front of a packed house at Ringe Courts as the men’s and women’s squash programs were hosting a 125th Jubilee dinner and program after the match. The event was expected to bring together over 300 former men's and women's squash members, family and friends to celebrate the history and tradition of Penn squash.

Penn will look to bounce back in Ivy League action, hosting Brown Sunday at 11 a.m.
