PHILADELPHIA - New gray uniforms were unveiled and highlighted head coach Al Bagnoli's final Media Day at the helm of the University of Pennsylvania football team. Local and national media outlets gathered at Franklin Field on Monday morning to meet with the 2014 edition of the Penn Quakers.

As part of the annual Media Day activities, players and coaches were escorted through photo shoots with a series of photographers as well as filming for the Penn Sports Network. After the team photo, the players are seperated into photos based on region, class year and position. In between shoots, the Penn players and coaches answered questions from the media and discussed the upcoming season.

Though the three-hour media session came to an end around 11:30 a.m., the players will continue with their preseason camp on Monday with weight room workouts, several team meetings and a practice under the lights at Franklin Field.

The preseason gathering is Coach Bagnoli's last Media Day after 23 seasons at the helm of the Quakers. The legendary coach will be retiring following the season. Coach Bagnoli enters the 2014 campaign with nine outright Ivy titles, more than any other coach in league history, and a 146-72 (.670) record at Penn (school's all-time wins leader), with a 110-44 (.714) record against Ivy opponents (Ivy League's second all-time wins leader).

In addition to the traditional media day festivities, the team used the exposure to unveil new gray uniforms with a traditional feel. The new-age Nike uniforms were combined with red and blue striped sleeves to resemble the classic uniform look of past Penn teams from the early-to-mid 1900s. The gray uniform will be used an alternate jersey in addition to the traditional white and blue jerseys along with an alternate red uniform. The uniforms were unveiled to the team on Friday to an exuberant and uproarious reaction

The Quakers, who were picked to finish fourth in the preseason media poll, open their 138th season on the road in Florida, when they visit Jacksonville for a 1 p.m. kickoff on Sept. 20. That matchup will be the first between the two schools and the first time the Quakers start the season outside of Pennsylvania since 2004, when Penn was victorious, 60-18, at San Diego.
