PHILADELPHIA - The Ivy League and ECAC have announced its weekly honors in women's soccer, and for the second time this season a Penn player has swept both honors.
Penn sophomore Marin McDermott received the honors for the first time in her college career after helping the Quakers to a three-win week. She scored a pair of goals in a 3-0 win at UMBC on Tuesday night, then following that up with the winning goal in the Quakers' 2-1 Ivy League win over Cornell Friday night. The goals gave McDermott five for the season, which is second on the team. McDermott joins senior Jessica Fuccello in winning both Ivy and ECAC Player of the Week honors; Fuccello has received Ivy recognition twice this season and ECAC once. Penn returns to Ivy League action Saturday night in New York City, taking on Columbia. |
