PHILADELPHIA - Freshman Jeremy Court put a cap to his fantastic rookie season by being named to the Second Team All-Ivy squad on Tuesday after a vote of the league's head coaches.

Court compiled a 16-4 record in the spring, which included a 6-1 mark in the Ivy League. Playing anywhere from Nos. 1-5 in his first year for the Quakers, Court won a total of 22 matches and took home the Flight D title at the Princeton Invitational in his first collegiate tournament, defeating four Ivy League opponents to nab the victory.

During Penn's spring break trip to Florida, Court was defeated at No. 4 by Juan Carlos Acuna of South Florida, dropping his record to 6-3 in the spring. Ten matches later, he stood at 16-3 and was consistently playing at either No. 1 or No. 2. A super-tiebreaker loss to Haig Schneiderman of Columbia was the only thing separating him from a perfect first season in the Ivy League.

Court's award marks the second year in a row that a Penn freshman has garnered the attention of the Ivy League head coaches. Last season, Court's doubles partner Zach Katz made it on to the Second Team All-Ivy in doubles.
