Mikolai Earns Ivy Rookie of the Week Honors

PHILADELPHIA - The Ivy League has announced its weekly award winners in women's soccer, and for the second time in three weeks Penn freshman midfielder Erin Mikolai has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week.

Mikolai was honored for her two-goal performance in Sunday's 4-0, non-conference win over NJIT. The win was the second in a row for the Quakers, who also defeated Cornell 2-1 in an Ivy match on Friday night. Penn is 6-4-0 overall, 2-0-0 in Ivy play. Mikolai leads a deep Penn attack -- eight different players have scored this season -- with three goals.

Penn is home again on Friday night, hosting Columbia at 7 p.m., before hitting the road to face Saint Francis (Pa.) on Sunday in its final non-conference regular-season game of 2012.
