Stephen Brindle is in his third year as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Penn, and is also the Speed and Agility Coordinator for all of the Quakers' varsity sports.
During the course of his career he has helped develop and condition numerous NFL and NBA athletes as well as NCAA All-Americans.
A 2005 graduate of the University of Delaware; Brindle earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Health and Exercise Sciences with a minor in Strength and Conditioning. While finishing up his degree at the University of Delaware, Brindle interned with the University of Hawaii and Velocity Sports Performance, where he gained extensive knowledge on speed and agility training techniques. Brindle returned to school to earn a Master's Degree in Kinesiology from Temple University in 2009. While at Temple (2007-09) he served as a Graduate Extern Strength Coach working with football, men's and women's basketball, men's crew, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's track.
Prior to arriving at Penn, Brindle served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Pittsburgh in 2009-10 where he worked primarily with men's and women's swimming and men's and women's track and assisted with men's basketball. Brindle currently competes in the sport of powerflifting, earning several first-place awards as well as a top 10 national ranking.
Brindle is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), a Strength and Conditioning Certified Coach (SCCC), and a United States Weightlifting Performance Coach (USAW).
