PHILADELPHIA – No. 13 Penn (3-3, 0-1 Ivy) fell to third-ranked Harvard (8-0, 2-0) on Saturday at the Ringe Squash Courts in its first Ivy League action of the season. The Quakers suffered their 69th loss all-time, 9-0, at the hands of the Crimson, dropping every match in straight games.

The first rotation of matches began with No. 6 Michael Mutscheller (1-5, 0-1) falling to Thomas Mullaney (5-0, 2-0). The next match to end was at the third position between John Dudzik (2-4, 0-1) and Gary Power (4-1, 2-0). The match at No. 9 between Daniel Judd (5-1, 0-1) and Matt Roberts (5-0, 2-0) was back and forth early, with Roberts winning the first game, 15-13, as the two players consistently traded points. Judd dropped the next two, though, giving Harvard the early lead, 3-0.

In the next rotation, freshman Liam Quinn (4-2, 0-1) put his four-match winning streak up against Nigel Koh (4-1, 2-0) at the fifth position, but was dealt the second loss of his young collegiate career. At No. 2, Derek Chilvers (2-4, 0-1) and Brandon McLaughlin (5-0, 2-0) had one of the closer matches on the day, but it ended in Harvard’s favor despite Chilvers scoring eight and nine points in the last two games, respectively. The No. 8 match between Tyler Odell (4-2, 0-1) and Jason Michas (5-0, 2-0) was the most competitive of the day. The first and third games both went past 11 points, but Odell was unable to win either, dropping the middle game as well.

The last three matches of the day amounted to another three losses for the Red and Blue. At No. 1, captain Danny Greenberg (3-3, 0-1) fell to the nation’s top-ranked collegiate men’s player, Ali Farag (4-0, 2-0). No. 4 Augie Frank (2-4, 0-1) and No. 7 Jack Maine (4-2, 0-1) fell in quick matches as well.

Penn will be back at it on Sunday for an 11:00 a.m. match against eighth-ranked Dartmouth (3-2, 0-1) at Ringe. Greenberg will headline the day at No. 1 as he faces a familiar foe in the Big Green’s Christopher Hanson (4-1, 0-1).
