PHILADELPHIA – The No. 12 Penn squash team (3-6, 0-2 Ivy) fell, 9-0, to second-ranked Trinity (9-0, 4-0 NESCAC) on Saturday at the Ringe Squash Courts. Despite the score, the Quakers gave the Bantams some trouble in a few matches, playing two four-game matches and one five-game.

The first match to end was at position six, as Michael Mutscheller (1-8, 0-2) fell in three games. Next was No. 3 where John Dudzik (2-7, 0-2) dropped his match in three games as well, despite taking the final game to a 12-10 finish. The final match of the first rotation was at No. 9, but it lasted way into the second rotation. The third match of the day to finish was at the fifth position where Liam Quinn (4-5, 0-2) fell in straight games.

In the second rotation, following No. 5 was the second position match – Derek Chilvers (2-7, 0-2) fell in straight games. The match at No. 9 would finally come to an end as Daniel Judd (5-4, 0-2) fell in five games. The junior went up 2-1 after three games, but after losing the fourth game, 16-14, Judd simply ran out of gas, falling in the final game, 11-4. Because of the length at No. 9, the eighth position match took long as well.

The third rotation began at No. 4 where Augie Frank (2-7, 0-2) fell in straight games. Danny Greenberg (3-6, 0-2) dropped his match, 3-1, at No. 1 winning the third game, 11-7. Tyler Odell (6-3, 1-1) at No. 8 finally finished his match, which went four games. The loss was his first since Harvard, as he won against Dartmouth and Franklin & Marshall. The final match of the day was at the seventh position where Jack Maine (4-5, 0-2) fell in straight games. He did put up a tough fight in the final game though, losing 15-13.

The Red and Blue will be back in action against No. 1 Princeton (5-0, 2-0) when they travel to Princeton, N.J. on Jan. 30 for a 7:30 p.m. match.
