PHILADELPHIA -
The men's swimming team dominated La Salle on Saturday, claiming 13 of the first 14 events of the afternoon to cruise to a 175-121 win over the Explorers.

The day's first event was a sign of things to come. The Penn 'A' team of Dillon McHugh, Kyle Yu, Rhoads Worster and John Germanis put together a time of 3:26.18 to win by over four-and-a-half seconds on their La Salle counterparts. Alex Elias was next up, winning a sprint to the finish in the 1000 Freestyle (9:41.00). Sam Ruddy (1:42.14 in the 200 Freestyle), Brian Foley (1:52.89 in the 200 Backstroke) and Yu (2:06.22 in the 200 Breaststroke) would continue the trend as Penn stayed perfect in the mid-distance races.

The Quakers extended their streak to seven wins in seven races as Rhoads Worster won the 50 Butterfly in 23.18 and Eric Schultz took the 50 Freestyle in 21.49 before La Salle could stop the bleeding with victory on the 1-meter boards. That would prove to be the only win of the day for the Explorers until Penn shifted its swimmers into exhibition races for the final events.

As the competition moved back to swimming, Germanis was the first to find the win column for the Quakers. The freshman took home the 100 Freestyle in 47.16 as part of a 1-2-3 Penn finish in the event. Worster then got his second win of the day in the 50 Backstroke (24.21) and Yu closed out the sprint races with victory in the 50 Breaststroke (26.97).

Little used up to that point, Chris Swanson had no trouble in the 500 Freestyle (4:42.30), and Samuel Haley closed out the individual races with a time of 1:54.94 in the 200 Butterfly to place first ahead of teammate Stephen Carroll. Penn's final victory of the afternoon took place on the 3-meter boards, as Peter Magliulo compiled a score of 248.48.

The men's team goes on the road to compete in its final dual meet of the season next weekend, facing Harvard on Feb. 9 at 12 p.m.
