Cambridge, Mass. -
The Penn men's swimming team was unable to spring the upset over a ranked Harvard squad on Saturday afternoon, falling by a score of 195-98 at Harvard's Blodgett Pool.

Kyle Yu was key for the Quakers on the day as he won both the 100 Breaststroke (56.63) and 200 Breaststroke (2:03.83). Penn also had a number of second-place finishers. The day's first event was the 200 Medley Relay, where the 'A' team of Eric Schultz, Yu, Rhoads Worster and Alex Porter swam a 1:33.03 to finish a couple of seconds behind the Harvard 'A' team. Next up, Chris Swanson finished just three seconds behind the Crimson's Mike Gaudiani in the 1000 Freestyle, touching the wall in 9:26.78.

Worster finished just three-tenths of a second behind the winner in the 100 Backstroke (50.56), and Porter later sprinted to a 21.14 in the 50 Freestyle for yet another runner-up showing. Worster added one last second place finish in the 100 Butterfly (50.57) as the only Penn swimmer in the event. With the win assured for the Crimson, they swam only exhibitions in the final two races of the day, leading to wins for Brendan Crystal in the 400 IM (4:02.82) and the 'A' relay team of Schultz, Bradley Wachenfeld, Worster and Dillon McHugh in the 200 Freestyle Relay (1:26.61).

Penn will have the next three weeks off to train and prepare for the Ivy League Championships. This year the Championships will be hosted by Brown from March 7-9 at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center.
