WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The University of Pennsylvania women's golf team is tied for 16th out of 28 teams after the first day at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate, which is being hosted by William & Mary at the Kingsmill Resort River Course, a par-71 course for this event.
The 36-hole event is Penn's first of the spring season; it will conclude with a final round on Monday.
The Quakers shot 329 as a team on Sunday, and are tied with Marshall in the middle of the field. Boston College leads the way after its first-round 302, putting the Eagles four strokes ahead of Longwood and seven strokes ahead of Wofford and George Washington. There are two other Ivy League schools in the field; Yale is tied for sixth (313), while Columbia is 15th (326).
For Penn, sophomore Amanda Chin shot a 79 and was the low Quaker in the field; she is tied for 31st in a field that includes 148 players. Senior Isabel Han carded an 82 and is tied for 70th, while Olivia Chang shot 83 and is tied for 85th.
Longwood's Hannah Pierce and Delaware's Annie Bowlsby are tied atop the leader board, as both shot 73 on Sunday.
