PHILADELPHIA - Seniors Brandon Copeland, Scott Lopano and Joe Bonadies worked out for NFL scouts on Monday during Pro Day at Villanova Stadium. The trio of University of Pennsylvania football players, as well as several other local players, went through the NFL Combine work out for scouts, coaches, agents, fans and members of the media.
The players met with scouts from the NFL, including the Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints, Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Cheifs and the CFL, prior to the work out and were then taken to have their official height and weight measurements recorded. The players went through several tests of strength, speed and agility - identical to the work out at the NFL scouting combine.
Since Al Bagnoli took over as the George A. Munger Head Coach of Football, 14 Penn players have signed NFL contracts. The last of which was offensive lineman Greg Van Roten, who signed with the Green Bay Packers last summer. Van Roten and the Packers won the NFC North and lost in the Divisional Round of the 2013 NFL Playoffs to the San Francisco 49ers.
