PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team announced its captains for the 2013-14 season on Friday afternoon. The three captains will be juniors Wynne Levy and Kaitlyn Reszkowski, and senior Diana Moock.
Levy has competed in all but three meets during her two seasons in the Red and Blue. As a sophomore, she competed as a specialist on vault in the final nine meets of the season. She finished in the top-10 in five of those meets while scoring at least a 9.650. She scored a season-high 9.675 at West Chester on Feb. 8, placing second. As a freshman she competed in every meet, all on vault. She placed in the top-10 in five meets. Her career-high 9.750 came on Mar. 11, 2012 when she placed sixth at Maryland.
Reszkowski blossomed on the floor as a sophomore, competing on the floor exercise in every single meet. She placed in the top-10 in five meets, and scored a career-high 9.775 against Bridgeport on Feb. 17 en route to a sixth-place individual finish and a 193.975 overall team score – the fourth-highest in program history. As a freshman she also competed in seven meets, all on floor.
Moock will be the sole senior captain of the squad. The Ohio native competed in every meet as a freshman, scoring her career high on the vault in her collegiate debut. As a sophomore Moock was named to both the ECAC and USAG All-Academic teams. Last season she competed as a specialist on vault in two separate meets.
