2012-13 GCAA Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars (PDF)
PHILADELPHIA – The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) has announced its 2012-13 Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar recipients for the 2012-13 academic year, and for the second straight year University of Pennsylvania men’s golfer P.J. Fielding is on the list. He is one of 152 players at the NCAA Division I level who met the GCAA’s demanding combination of playing in at least 50 percent of his team’s competitive rounds; holding a stroke average under 76.0 for the year; and boasting a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2.
A recent graduate of Penn and captain of the golf team in 2012-13, Fielding was in the lineup for all but one tournament in 2012-13 and finished the year with a 74.5 stroke average in 21 tournament rounds. He was Penn’s low scorer or tied as low scorer three times as a senior, including the Ivy League Championships where he tied for second overall to earn his second straight first-team All-Ivy certificate. Fielding also was individual medalist at the Rehoboth Beach Fall Invitational, hosted by Penn, and tied for 10th overall at the Yale Spring Invitational.
In addition to being a GCAA All-America Scholar each of the last two years, Fielding earned Academic All-Ivy and Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area this spring.
