PHILADELPHIA - The Penn-Princeton field hockey game, originally scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. this Saturday, will instead move to noon to accommodate the formal dedication of Penn's new AstroTurf field, Ellen Vagelos C'90 Field.
The dedication will begin with a reception at approximately 10:30 a.m., and be followed by an acknowledgement on the playing surface. That will end around 11:15 a.m., at which time the teams will take the field to begin their warmup.
As of now, the teams are scheduled to face off at approxmiately 12:05 p.m.
Saturday's game pits the top two teams in the Ivy League standings. If Princeton (6-0 Ivy League) wins the game, the Tigers earn the Ivy title outright and accompanying NCAA Championship berth. If Penn (5-1) wins, the Quakers and Tigers will tie for the title but the Quakers will gain the automatic bid by virtue of winning the head-to-head matchup.
