PHILADELPHIA – Coming off a season-high team score of 190.550 a week ago, The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team will look to continue to build momentum as it faces Rutgers and West Chester, this Sunday at 1 p.m. in Rockwell Gym, located inside Hutchinson Gymnasium.
Penn saw its finest performance to date against Temple, SUNY Brockport and SUNY Cortland as its home supporters filled Rockwell Gym creating a vibrant atmosphere.
The crowd this Sunday will have the same energy, but a different color scheme, as the Quakers host a ‘Think Pink’ meet in order to raise awareness and money to help with the fight against breast cancer. Penn gymnastics will be selling pink t-shirts and handing out free pink pom-poms, in order to help raise proceeds and support the Unite for Her Foundation.
The Unite for Her Foundation’s mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of women and girls by supporting and providing breast cancer and wellness programs that educate, empower and restore.
Tan is coming off a performance of scoring a 9.475 on bars, a 9.700 on beam and a 9.650 on floor. Hu matched Tan’s score on beam (9.700) to help guide the Quakers to their highest team score of the season (48.150) on the apparatus.
