BOSTON – The University of Pennsylvania men’s squash team fell 7-2 to Rochester in its Potter Cup finale on Sunday afternoon in the College Squash Association (CSA) team national championships.

Penn (8-7) was ranked eighth going into the team championships, and finished the Potter Cup in the same position. The Quakers were making their return to the top-flight of the team championships for the first time since 2009.

On Sunday, Penn picked up two individual victories, one by senior co-captain John Dudzik in the seventh position and one by freshman Benton Turner in the ninth position. Both victories were decided, 3-1.

The Quakers fell to eventual national champion Harvard in the first round, followed by a loss to St. Lawrence (N.Y.) in the consolation semifinals, before their loss to Rochester.

Penn finished the regular season with an 8-4 overall record and a 4-3 record in the Ivy League.

The Quakers will return to action in the CSA individual championships, to be played at Penn’s Ringe Courts, Feb. 28 to March 2.
