The University of Pennsylvania football team will be featured on the ESPN series “The Season” on Friday morning. “The Season”, a documentary styled, reality-based series, takes viewers behind the scenes and onto the sidelines with a variety of teams and athletes. The Penn football episode of this series will air on ESPN2 at 1 a.m. on Nov. 11 and repeat on the ESPN Networks (ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU) for several weeks.

“We’re delighted they chose us,” Penn Head Coach Al Bagnoli said. “It’s been a very interesting, very enjoyable and very unique experience for the kids and I.”

Last week, “The Season” was on campus following Penn football players and coaches around leading up to the Penn v. Princeton game. The television cameras got a behind-the- scenes look into the Penn locker room, practices and during halftime of the Penn v. Princeton game. The cameras also got a look at what Penn players do off the field.

Penn is the first I-AA football team to be appear on the show. The Season has chronicled Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Army, and Louisville already in 2005.

Penn is also the only I-AA team to host “College Game Day.” The show aired live from Franklin Field for Penn’s Ivy League-clinching win over Harvard in 2002. It remains one of the most watched Game Day show ever.
