The new soccer stadium at Rhodes Field was dedicated at Homecoming on Nov. 2, 2002. Through the generosity of several alumni, Rhodes Field now has a beautiful brick facade with elevated spectator seating for 650 and the Rapaport Family Suite.

In addition to being the game field for the Penn men's and women's soccer teams, Rhodes Field has become a primary practice destination for professional and international teams in recent years. In the summer of 2011, the United States trained at Rhodes in preparation for its international friendly with Mexico, and several Major League Soccer teams have used the facility when in town to play the Philadelphia Union.

The 2005 season marked the return of nighttime soccer to Penn, as lights were installed at Rhodes Field. The addition greatly enhanced the atmosphere of games, as the Quakers hosted packed crowds for night games. The installation of the floodlights were made possible by the generosity of Marc Rapaport W’79.

Set in the shadow the Philadelphia skyline along the West bank of the Schuylkill River, Rhodes Field is easy to walk to from the Penn campus, as well as drive to from various highways.
