PHILADELPHIA - Campus is beginning to buzz again with the official start of football season at the University of Pennsylvania. The Quakers took the field for the first time on Tuesday at Penn Park and will test out Franlin Field's new turf on Friday morning.

There will be 28 scheduled practices for Penn leading up to the Sept. 21 season opener against Lafayette. That includes a scrimmage at 16th-ranked Stony Brook on Aug. 31. The team will be in upper pads on Thursday and Friday and Saturday will be the first day of full pads. Sunday marks the first of two two-a-days for the Quakers.
Penn's first game of the 2013 campaign is slated for Sept. 21 at Franklin Field against Lafayette. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. Season Tickets are now available on PennAthletics.com. In the quest to match the league record with a 17th Ivy League title, Penn also hosts Dartmouth (Oct. 5), Yale (Oct. 26), Princeton (Nov. 9) and Cornell (Nov. 23) at the nation's oldest college football stadium this season.
