Spring Prospectus

PHILADELPHIA – It's football season again at the University of Pennsylvania. Tuesday night, the the voices of Al Bagnoli and his coaching staff will once again be booming off the Franklin Field seats and PennAthletics.com will be there to help to provide full coverage of the Quakers throughout the spring season.

For Bagnoli, the program's all-time winningest head coach, this marks his 20th season of spring practice at Penn. It officially starts with the first spring practice Tuesday night at 8:15 p.m. The team will practice 10 more times leading up to the primetime Spring Game on April 9.

The Spring Game is open to the public as fans will have their first chance to check out the defending champions when the Red and Blue take the first snap at 6 p.m.

The Quakers are returning just nine of their 25 starters from last season's title-winning team, but eight of those were All-Ivy honorees last season. In all, 33 letterwinners graduated, but Penn returns the other 32 letterwinners. Those numbers do not include starting defensive lineman Jared Sholly and All-Ivy running back Lyle Marsh, who were each injured for all of, or the majority of the 2010 season.

Here is a quick guide to the ongoing coverage of Penn Spring Football:

Twitter - For live updates during practice, follow along with Penn Football's twitter account. Members of the Penn football staff will be tweeting during practices and throughout the spring season. For up-to-the-second news on the Quakers, you can follow the team on twitter (a free service). Fans do not need to join twitter in order to view the updates.

Penn Sports Network - Beginning with an interview with the George A. Munger Head Coach of Football Al Bagnoli during the first week of practice, the Penn Sports Network will also sit down with some of the Quakers and the staff during the spring season to preview the offense and defense.

Spring Prospectus - Available at the link above, the prospectus includes updated quick facts, the 2011 spring roster and Penn’s top All-America/All-Ivy candidates for the upcoming season as well as a complete review of the 2010 Ivy championship campaign in which the Quakers captured the program's 12th outright Ivy title and second straight undefeated Ivy season. The prospectus can be found archived throughout the spring and summer under the "History" tab on the Penn Football homepage.
