PHILADELPHIA - In 2012, anyone with a University of Pennsylvania issued ID can gain admittance to home football games free of charge, and bring up to three guests at no additional charge. Included are any faculty or staff, hospital workers, Penn Police and Allied Barton security guards with their Allied Barton ID cards.
Tickets are available with your ID at anytime during the school year at the ticket office - located at Weightman Hall on 235 South 33rd Street. The ticket office is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during August, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Sept. 6.
The 15-time Ivy League champions are just two months away from the home opener against Villanova in another edition of the Schuylkill Showdown on Sept. 22. Penn also hosts William & Mary on Family Weekend (Oct. 6), Columbia (Oct. 13) and Brown on Homecoming (Oct. 27). A showdown with Harvard caps the 2012 home slate on Nov. 10.
For those working outside of the Penn family, low-cost season tickets will be available in the upcoming weeks.
Penn, which finished 5-5 overall and in second place in the Ivy League at 4-3 in 2011, returns 39 letterwinners, including 17 starters and three All-Ivy honorees. The Quakers will officially begin their 136th season with practice in late August and the first game on Sept. 15 at Lafayette. Following the home opener against cross-city rival Villanova, the Quakers head to Dartmouth for the first of three nationally televised games on the NBC Sports Network.A complete 2012 football schedule can be found at the link atop this release.
