Rain Can't Damper Annual Football Media Day

PHILADELPHIA - After waiting out the rain, media members from the local Philadelphia area gathered at Franklin Field on Monday to meet with the 2012 edition of the University of Pennsylvania football team.

As part of the annual Media Day activities for the Quakers, players and coaches were escorted through photo shoots with a series of photographers as well as filming sports for the Penn Sports Network. In between shoots, several players and coaches answered questions and discussed the upcoming season with the media.

Though the three-hour media session came to an end just after 11 a.m., the players will continue with preseason camp on Monday with an afternoon practice, weight room workouts and several team meetings.

Penn opens its season on the road Sept. 15 at Lafayette at 6 p.m. The Quakers' home opener will be the following Saturday (Sept. 22) against Villanova in the Schuylkill Showdown at Franklin Field at 3:30 p.m. Penn was selected to finish second in the Ivy League this season.

The ticket office is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. during August, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Sept. 4.
