PHILADELPHIA - Another Ivy title defense begins in just a few months for the University of Pennsylvania football team. On Tuesday, they announced the 34 newest members of the program who will join the Quakers in their bid for a second straight championship and an unprecedented fourth outright Ivy title in five years.

A full breakdown of the Class of 2017, including individual bios and video highlights can be found below. Above is a full, interactive geographical breakdown of the incoming class.

"A lot of credit has to go to our coaching staff for bringing in another excellent recruiting class," said Penn's George A. Munger Head Coach of Football, Al Bagnoli. "These are true student-athletes who have excelled on the field, in the classroom and in their communities. We are excited for what's to come."

In Bagnoli's 21st recruiting class, 17 incoming freshmen will join the offense - five linemen, four wide receivers, three running backs, two quarterbacks, two tight ends and a fullback - and 14 will become a part of Ray Priore's defensive unit - seven defensive linemen, four defensive backs and three linebackers. In addition, Morgan will be added among Penn's specialists and quarterback Alek Torgersen is a potential punter for the Quakers. Spring Valley, Calif. native Lonnie Tuff and Princeton Junction, N.J., product Brian Schoenauer are both listed as a potential running back or defensive back.

The 34 incoming freshmen hail from a total of 14 different states, led by seven from distant California and six from the hometown state of Pennsylvania. Corey Power, Zach Madden, Aron Morgan and Adam Strouss will have the shortest trips to the West Philadelphia campus, while the four Southern California recruits, along with Bay area native, Griffith Gates, will travel the furthest to reach their teammates on the East Coast.

In 18 of the previous 20 recruiting classes under Bagnoli - owner of more outright Ivy titles (nine) than any coach in history - the unit has left with a minimum of one Ivy League championship ring. The most recent - the Class of 2016 - didn't have to wait long for theirs as they lifted the Ivy trophy just four months after stepping on campus.

The Quakers won their third outright Ivy League title in four years in 2012 - a feat which had not been accomplished since 1977-80, but has now been duplicated twice in a decade under Coach Bagnoli, who owns the highest Ivy winning percentage in league history. In 2013, Penn will be vying for an unprecedented fourth outright title in five years and has eight returners that were named All-Ivy last season.

For the program that holds the NCAA record for games played, the Quakers will officially begin their 137th season with practice in late August and the first game on Sept. 21 against Lafayette at historic Franklin Field. A complete schedule can be found here. Game times as well as radio and television schedules will be announced later this summer.
