PHILADELPHIA - For the fifth consecutive season, NBC Sports will serve as Ivy League football's national television network and once again the University of Pennsylvania football team has been selected as part of the national package. The Quakers will be featured this season when they play at Harvard on Nov. 16. Kickoff is set for noon.
Overall, this will mark the seventh straight year the Quakers have appeared in at least one nationally televised game. Over the previous six years, the Red and Blue have been featured nationally 13 times, including nine games on VERSUS/NBC Sports Network (NBCSN).
This will also be the third straight year the Penn-Harvard matchup has been featured on national television. Last year, in one of Penn's three nationally televised games, the Quakers topped Harvard, 30-21, to clinch the Ivy League championship at Franklin Field.
Penn, which returns 40 letterwinners and eight All-Ivy players from last season's title team, now has three televised games scheduled for 2013. Each of Penn's first two games have been picked up by local television. The season opener against Lafayette (Sept. 21) will air on RCN and the annual Schuylkill Showdown with Villanova (Sept. 28) will be shown on Comcast.
