PHILADELPHIA - Penn volleyball setter Megan Tryon was named Northeast All-Region honorable mention by the American Volleyball Coaches Association for the second straight season on Tuesday afternoon.
The senior and 2010 Ivy League Player of the Year earned the honor after leading the Quakers to their second consecutive Ivy League championship and postseason appearance in 2010. She was also a first-team All-Ivy selection and the first Ivy setter to receive Player of the Year honors since 2001.
Tryon led the entire league with 10.55 assists per set and was the catalyst for a Red and Blue squad which went 12-2 in league play to capture the program's 10th Ivy League title. Tryon also led the team with 22 service aces and was third with 2.47 digs per set.
The senior was the only Ivy League player to earn all-region honors in 2010. She is also the first two-time all-region honoree since Cornell's Elizabeth Bishop in 2005 and 2006.
