Emma White Garners Ivy League Co-Rookie of the Week Honors

PHILADELPHIA - Emma White earned co-Rookie of the Week honors, along with Yale's Mollie Rogers, after a weekend in which the  Manhattan Beach, Calif. product smashed 30 kills in wins over Columbia and Cornell.

On Friday night, White set a new career mark with 22 kills in Penn's come-from-behind, 3-2 victory over Columbia. The last of those 22 came on match point as the Quakers beat the Lions 15-9 in the fifth set. Adding 17 digs in the match, the outside hitter notched her ninth double-double of the season, a team-high in 2011.

White capped off her fantastic freshman season on Saturday in an easy, 3-0 sweep of the Cornell Big Red. Adding eight more kills to her season total, she fell just short of the overall team lead in that category, but managed to go error-free for the first time in her career, as she racked up a career high .348 hitting percentage in the match.

The Quakers ended the year at 10-14 (6-8 Ivy), but take a three-match winning streak into the offseason.
