Zack Rosen Earns First-Team All-Ivy

PHILADELPHIA - The Ivy League has announced its All-Ivy teams for the 2010-11 season, and for the second year in a row Penn junior guard Zack Rosen is a first-team selection. He is joined by teammate Jack Eggleston, who received honorable mention.

Rosen and Eggleston also received second-team All-District honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches, which like the All-Ivy teams was announced March 9.

Rosen is just the 17th played in Penn men's basketball history to earn multiple first-team All-Ivy recognition. He finished the season averaging a team-leading 14.3 points per game, and in Ivy play he finished 12th among Ancient Eight players in scoring (13.1 ppg) and was second in assists per game (6.2) while averaging a League-high 37.4 minutes per contest. Rosen finished in the top five in three other offensive categories. He ended the season with 152 assists, a career best and fourth in a single season at Penn. Rosen also surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career this season.

Eggleston ended a stellar four-year career averaging 13.2 points and a team-high 8.0 rebounds per game this season. In Ivy play, he was third among Ivy players in rebounds per game (7.9) and 10th in scoring (13.6 ppg) while averaging 36.9 minutes per game which was third among all Ivy League players. Eggleston led Penn in rebounding in 24 of its 28 games, and he finished his career with exactly 700 boards to become the first player to reach that total since Mark Zoller in 2007. Eggleston ended his career with 1,248 points, tied for 17th all-time at Penn with Matt Maloney.

Penn finished the season 7-7 in Ivy League play, placing fourth in the standings behind co-champions Harvard and Princeton and third-place Yale. Overall, the Quakers went 13-15 under head coach Jerome Allen in his first full season coaching the team.
