2012 AirTran Airways Orlando Pro Summer League Schedule

Sixers release about OPSL roster

PHILADELPHIA - There are few players in the history of Penn men's basketball with resumes as long and storied as Zack Rosen W'12. Late Saturday night, the 2011-12 Ivy League Player of the Year and honorable mention AP All-American earned a chance to continue adding to his legacy with his invite to play for the Philadelphia 76ers in the AirTran Airways Orlando Pro Summer League (OPSL) starting July 9.

"It is a great opportunity and I am very thankful for it," Rosen said. "I am excited to go down to Orlando and compete hard."

A three-time first-team All-Ivy point guard -- earning the honor unanimously on two occasions -- Rosen graduated from Penn as the program's all-time leader in assists (588), games started (115) and minutes played (4,198). A consummate player at the point, Rosen currently ranks third all-time in scoring (1,723 points), three-pointers made (225) and free-throw percentage (84.3) while sitting fourth in steals (154).

A semifinalist for the Bob Cousy Award presented to the nation's top point guard, Rosen's 2011-12 season was his finest. Over 33 starts -- the most ever by a Penn player in a single season -- Rosen amassed a single-season record 173 assists while playing a program-record 1,259 minutes. He led the Red and Blue in scoring 18.2 (ppg), assists (5.2 apg) and free-throw percentage (88.2) while ranking second in steals (1.4 spg) as Penn finished second in the Ivy League. After the season concluded, Rosen racked up multiple honors in addition to his Ivy awards, highlighted by Big 5 Player of the Year, first-team NABC District 13, and USBWA All-District.

Off the floor, Rosen was one of 10 Division I players named as a finalist for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award and was named Academic All-Ivy. At Penn's Senior Student-Athlete Banquet, Rosen was the Class of 1915 Award recipient as the most outstanding male student-athlete in the senior class. At Commencement, Rosen was presented with the University's "Spoon" Award, given to the outstanding student leader in the senior class as voted on by his peers.
