LONDON - Penn alum Koko Archibong C'03 saw his Olympic Games come to an end on Monday afternoon, as Nigeria fell to France 79-73 in the final game of qualifying play. With the loss, the Nigerians are guaranteed a fifth-place finish in their six-team group and thus will not be able to qualify for the quarterfinal round.

Nigeria won its first contest in the Games, defeating Tunisia 60-56, but then lost four in a row to Lithuania (72-53), the United States (156-73), Argentina (93-79), and France.

Archibong saw time in all five games for Nigeria. In 43 minutes of action he scored two points (against Lithuania) and added eight rebounds, four assists and two steals.

With the end of qualifying play in basketball, Penn's representation at the 2012 London Olympic Games has come to a close.
