In conjunction with the Connecticut School of Broadcasting, the Penn Sports Network will produce weekly installments of its "Student-Athlete Spotlight" series throughout the remainder of the 2008-2009 academic year. Each episode will provide a back story on a member of one of Penn Athletics' 33 varsity programs.

This week, Carrie Biemer is profiled. The senior forward from nearby Haddonfield, NJ paces her program in points scored per game, and Friday night at Dartmouth, became the 18th Quaker in women's basketball history to reach the milestone of 1,000 career points. This weekend, she and the Red and Blue resume their road trip, stopping at Yale on Friday, and Brown on Saturday.

Be sure to check back regularly with the new PennAthletics.com and the site's media player (located on the right side of the webpage) for continuing coverage of the university's teams.
